Best park to walk, bring your dog to their dog park area and they have nice bathrooms!
Love the large dog parks! There’s one for the bigger dogs and one for the smaller dogs. They provide clean water via a city/town water pump (in season) and bags if u should have to clean up after your little (or big) one. They also have a bench and gazebo in each park. They even have little obstacle courses if you have any interest in that type of training. We really enjoy taking Jackson there to play and run with his buddies. There is LOTS OF ROOM and LOTS OF FUN to be had by all!
The travel soccer fields are among the best in the state.
Park hours: 6am - 8:30pm
Front Fields - enter the parking lot by taking the first left after pulling into the park.
Back Fields - stay to the right, follow the winding narrow roadway, over several speed humps down to the lower parking lot.
Both sets of fields are illuminated at night during play & practice.
Play on the fields is by permit only.
Despite that, there are a number of other attractions at this park, for young & old alike.
There are walking trails with exercise stations, two well-maintained playground areas, with two, full-sized tennis courts, two full basketball courts, one full-sized beach volleyball court, multiple water fountains, 2 permanent club buildings - housing the bathrooms, & concession stands (hours vary with weather & game schedules).
By the Back Fields playground area, there is a large, fenced-in dog park where dogs can meet & mingle with other dogs.
There is even a separate, small breed, fenced in area as well.
My favorite part of the park has to be the bird habitat sanctuary.
Watching the swallows
in spring as they
glide through
and ride on the wind,
swooping into and
popping out of their
bird houses,
spaced along
the walking trail,
is just amazing to see.
In my years coming here, I have seen deer, rabbits, groundhogs, many types of birds - including birds of prey, woodpeckers, frogs, a turtle, & lots of interesting insects.
I have to give the park credit.
It is ALWAYS clean.
The only "litter" I see are things kids forgot, for instance: a practice shirt, a soccer ball in the bushes, etc. Someone will eventually claim these items.
There are several dog baggie dispensers, and trash cans dotted throughout the park along the walking path.
There are also TWO
conveniently located,
CLEAN & MAINTAINED,
INDOOR RESTROOMS in the park.
One in the at the "front fields", near the tennis courts, & one near the "back fields" parking lot.
Details like that really make travelling to a soccer game at a travel field a much more pleasant experience!
(especially with young children, older siblings, pets, and / or grandparents in tow)
When I'm walking next, I'll take pics of the buildings housing the bathrooms & include them in an update.
I hope my review is helpful!
Please enjoy Thompson Family Park!
I like to acknowledge people as I pass them while walking in the park.
So...
that might be me who says
'good evening' to you,
as chance
or happenstance
cause our paths
to converge
as we meet along our
Life's journey.

This is a family friendly park. I love taking my kids here. There is so much for them to do besides the really nice kept playground. There is also a long trail to walk good for exercise.
EG Christmas tree lighting is 2nd to nobody. Thx to everyone responsible and especially those who help out and bring our community together
