Tako Japanese Restaurant

Tako is my all-time favorite sushi restaurant! A smaller place with a nice ambiance. Usually you can get seated right away if you go early enough 🙂 Everything from appetizers to dessert is delicious. However, I highly recommend the sushi! It's always so fresh. Lots of specialty rolls as well. My favorite is the crunch roll, which is a lightly fried roll with tuna and cream cheese. Not exactly healthy but it is so good 🙂 If you're not into raw fish, the hibachi dinners are also fabulous.

Quite literally the best sushi ON THE PLANET. Japan, Shanghai, southern China, Hong Kong, East Bay, Los Angeles. Nothing beats Tako.

The best appetizer on the menu is the yellowtail jalapeño. It's as fresh as fresh can be.

My favorite rolls are the Rainbow Sashimi, and Jay Roll. My wife: Fruit Punch and the Black Angel Roll.

What makes their rolls so great is:

1 - The Nori. Top quality. But this means you have to dine in.

2. The fish. It's fresh - never frozen, and you can taste it. So clean and so good.

Service is excellent and super friendly. They'll answer all your questions and are very accommodating when it comes to making any changes if you don't prefer some fish (ie - my wife may sub salmon for tuna on a roll).

It may seem pricey, and it is in comparison to most sushi places. But you're paying for top quality. I'm more than happy to pay it. I absolutely love this place.

One of my all time favorite places to eat. They are so friendly and the food is always great. The chicken pad thai (best I've had) and mango chicken are phenomenal. I also love the crunch and duck roll. Highly recommend. We take all of our friends here for them to experience it as well! 10 out of 10

It's been awhile since I've been dining in here. Nothing much has changed. Still great friendly customer service from this lady, possibly the owner. I came here with my dad and a baby in the carseat, so I asked if I can be seated in one of the rooms. Lady said normally they don't open the rooms during lunch time, but she sees that I have a little baby with me, so she tried to accommodate me so my little one can be in a room instead.

I wasn't expecting much from this place based upon the strip mall location... but boy was I wrong! We started with the Godzilla roll which was very fresh & delicious. For dinner I had Tako fried fish in a sweet and spicy sauce, and let me tell you it was so freaking tasty! My girlfriend had the Shrimp & Scallops Hibachi. The Scallops were cooked to absolute perfection & the fried rice was outstanding! Don't hesitate to give this place a try! I will be returning in the near future.
