I can’t say enough great things about Boyd McIlvaine and Simcox-McIlvaine Funeral Home! When our youngest brother passed away unexpectedly, Boyd was so kind and helpful every step of the way. He allowed us to lovingly say our farewells to our brother before he was cremated, and gave us as much time as we needed with him. Boyd was so sensitive towards our needs and our grief. He is extremely professional and very knowledgeable about the undertaking business. He also helped us to design beautiful prayer cards for our brother, and even though it took some going back-and-forth on my part, Boyd worked tirelessly with me until we got it just perfect for my beloved brother. Also, Boyd was very good about communicating with us in a timely manner. He returned our calls right away, and kept us informed every step of the way. I highly recommend working with Simcox-McIlvaine, they are an outstanding and caring place to go, should you lose a dear loved one. ❤️

Boyd Jr. is living out his family's legacy of funeral directorship with grace and honor. Boyd handled my grandmother's funeral with genuine care and kindness. His patience was beyond accommodating for a fairly (maybe unnecessarily) complicated funeral: two cultures, one faith, 1 million things to coordinate...Plus, my grandmother is survived by six daughters, all whom are excellent cooks; too many, too-good cooks, in the kitchen.

The service was conducted at St. Stan's (the Catholic Church across the street), but in another language with a priest from a different Catholic church presiding over the mass. In spite of some language barriers, many points of multiple contact(s), Boyd dealt with every detail and answered everyone's questions with warmth and concern. He has a great knowledge of processions and every/anything funeral-related. He was incredibly professional and approachable. And, he provided helpful insight about customs, death certificates, and travel (my grandmother's remains will sent overseas to be buried alongside my grandfather). I especially appreciated how he made himself available but never intervened with our desires, decisions~

We were not prepared for all of the large and small things that come with even a timely death; thank Goodness for Boyd and his team who made us all feel cared for and gave us space and ceremony for grieving our loss. Could not give Boyd higher praise for helping my family say goodbye to our family's matriarch, Maria Kim, 1927-2021.

This establishment has handled my father's funeral beautifully and we as a family were blessed to have Boyd's assistance in our time of morning. A very caring and genuine atmosphere. Thank you.

Boyd treated my sister and I as if we were his family. My mothers service was, while so hard to think about planning, was just perfect due to Boyd. We are so grateful and would recommend him to anyone.

Although we met with Boyd under not so pleasant circumstances; arranging the funeral of my mother in law, it was an ABSOLUTE PLEASURE to work with Boyd. He went above and beyond before , during, and after the funeral service and continues to do so. I am totally impressed by Boyd’s caring and compassionate nature. He is totally available for us and makes time (I have no doubt he is very busy) to address all of our follow up questions.
