Prim and Perverse

I had my wedding dress altered at Prim and Perverse in 2022 and was incredibly happy with not only my results, but also the process of getting the alterations done. Courtney is a gracious host and made me feel welcome and at home in her studio. She gave honest feedback and options on my alteration and helped me to feel confident in my body and dress for my wedding. I struggled to find a dress I loved while staying within my very very modest budget. I ended up finding an $80 untraditional ivory dress off of Poshmark that was ill-fitting and lacked shape. Courtney was able to make it fit like it was meant for me and I could not have been happier with the results.

I came to Courtney stressed and desperate after receiving a wild alteration appointment estimate and was met with kindness and honesty. She immediately made me feel heard and addressed my concerns. From that conversation, I knew her and her team were professional, experienced and my best choice for altering my wedding dress.

I had a wonderful time working with Courtney from the start. She was thorough with her review of the dress and what needed to be altered. She completely restructured the waist of the dress and it fit like it was made for me on the day of my wedding. Her work is impeccable and her professional is impressive. She was easy to talk to and I never felt judged in our fitting sessions. Everyone was so impressed by my dress and it’s fit on the day of the wedding. She even helped me create a detailed bustling video for my maids of honor. I highly recommend her work. I would give her more than 5 stars if I could ! Bonus- she’s got a super cute studio pup that will win your heart :)

By the time I came to see Courtney I had already seen another seamstress in Philadelphia and I was extremely unhappy and anxiety ridden about the state of my dress and whether or not alterations were even going to be possible to get my dress where it needed to be. Courtney immediately eased my concerns and made me feel heard and comfortable. She understood exactly what needed to be done to my dress and assured me they would be able to do the alterations. When I brought her my dress it was at least 3-4 sizes too big and the entire neckline needed to be redone. Every fitting my dress got closer and closer to how I dreamed it would be and I could not have been happier with the final product. I'm so happy I decided to use Prim and Perverse for my alterations! If it was not for Courtney I would have had to purchase an entirely new dress! Thank you so much!

Courtney and her team are incredible! Not only are they professional and the absolute BEST at what they do. They are also compassionate, kind, supportive, and welcoming. I came to Courtney with a dress SOS and she turned my dress into a dream. She and Rob were finding adjustments that I didn't even know could be made! I need to find more formal wear in need of alterations to come back and visit!

Courtney and Rob are not tailors, they're wizards. No mere mortal could have taken the raggedy mess I brought into them (and I'm talking about myself, not the dress) and made so much magic. I had a miserable and frustrating experience finding my wedding dress and had just resigned myself to walking down the aisle in anything that I could get onto my body. Eventually I found an ill-fitting $100 ivory David's Bridal bridesmaids dress that they transformed into an absolute dream. They totally restructured the skirt, added an entirely new back panel, designed a stunning overskirt with a train, and made a perfect veil. In lesser hands I would have looked like Frankenstein's monster but they made me feel like Cinderella. I am enormously grateful. Their whole team is incredibly professional, the studio is gorgeous, their prices are ridiculously affordable, and they're just a fun crew who clearly love what they do. I would recommend them to anyone. And if nothing else, go to Prim & Perverse just to hang out with their shop dog, Wilhelmina.
