For some odd reason I got a hankering for the old fashioned chocolate straws and I set out to find them. There aren't many out there, but I could tell from the color of a few that they were not the ones I loved as a kid. Also bought another brand and the chocolate was barely there and just not the same. Finally stumbled upon Plantation and yep, that was it. Even the can is similar enough to evoke memories if you grew up as young kid in the 70's. You can buy direct, price is reasonable, shipping is INCLUDED and quality is beyond 5 star. Made in the USA is a plus. # Funny thing though... I found something on their website that further jogged my memory... "golden crunchies"! OMG, I remember those and LOVED them!!! Product arrived and was SOOO good. It took everything in my being not to eat the whole can in one sitting. For all those peanut butter freaks - do yourself a favor and go buy a can or two... or three! ;) I just ordered more. My waist won't thank me, but they are so good - I almost don't care.
Choc straws are a favorite childhood memory. Still taste as good as they did 30+ years ago and still made in the USA.
My husband was reminiscing about their Coconut Cream eggs from his childhood. I thought I would surprise him with a couple. Unfortunately, I waited until a day or two before Easter, and the company took a break after their busy Holiday. I contacted Customer service, and they were the best! So helpful, polite and accommodating. Candies were so, so good. Will be ordering from them again, and again, and again.
Nothing brings back Christmas memories like plantation candies they were always in my grandmother s candy dishes and in my moms now they are in my dishes too! Great old style candy still made the same way!
candy straws are AMAZING candy is reasonable and great tasting. Can you go and purchase candy from them directly? Either way the candy Straws are way worth it. Best you can get. Other Candy straws have more candy then Chocolate. Theirs has more chocolate, as long as they do not change we will keep getting from them.
