Nicola's Pizza

My girlfriend Melody came here over the weekend. I enjoyed coming here when I was child and still is nostalgic. Their pizza a here is amazing, the atmosphere is great especially having a seat by the fireplace, and the service is wonderful!

Took an off day drive out to Lambertville to do some sightseeing. I ended up stopping at this local pizzeria and was thoroughly impressed. Nicolas has been around for over 50 years, which is always a good sign, and built inside what was once a colonial era tavern. The signature pizza of this area of NJ is the Trenton upside down tomato pie ( similar to a typical New York style plain pie but with the sauce over the cheese), and their’s is excellent. The sauce was plump and naturally sweet , the ratio of sauce to cheese was typical of this style, and the crust was thin and crunchy with little flop, just the way I like it. Equally impressive was their signature cheesesteak, the “GasPipe”, made with a combination of I assume to be shaved ribeye, chicken, mushrooms, onions, garlic, spinach, eggs, and white American cheese on an Italian roll, DELISH.

Hidden gem, I'm in here weekly. Not just the best pie in Lambertville but this place makes a better pie than most old school places in NYC or Philly. Wings are delicious as well. When they have the fireplace going it's magical, you can thank me later.

Always a pleasure. Grabbed one to go.. perfectly cooked.. I added my own bagnana peppers at home but as far as throwing the pie back on the stone, it's a great pizza for that. I recommend everybody get a stone for their oven. You know, for reheating the take homes.. Had a fun time at the bar while the pizza cooked.. "I was grocery shopping" if anybody aks.. Always a pleasure.
