We moved into the Grove at Meadowood in late April this year, 2022. Our experiences to date have been excellent. We cannot say enough about such friendly, happy, and helpful neighbors and staff. Anne Marie and I have been impressed with the maintenance and beauty of the community. Our life here at Meadowood has been superb, we can't say enough about how happy we are regarding the people, the facilities, the activities, and everything we have experienced since becoming residents, ourselves, here at Meadowood.

Best decision we ever made was to come to Meadowood. We had lived in Mt Airy in Philadelphia for 40 years in a big old (built in 1935) stone house. Friends had recently moved to Meadowood and they invited us several times to visit, have dinner, meet some residents and they urged us to move to a new (at the time 2006) carriage home only a couple were left. We signed on. The architecture of the house was terrific compact yet not cramped; added an office during construction and watched house being built while we started the packing up and moving out routine. Also started process of selling house ---which luckily went rapidly. Our timing was perfect!

It is now December, 2022, 16 years since we moved to Meadowood. Still the best decision we ever made.
I wanted to add to my past comments because we have experienced the inevitable, a death. Mary and I were alone. Our daughter had died a few years ago and though we had many nieces and nephews we were independent at Meadowood and very happy here. Then Mary's lung cancer resurfaced with new pelvic bone involvement. On top of that her COPD was getting worse. Immunotherapy started at nearby Fox Chase facility at Suburban Community Hospital. Every three week infusion. Easy to drive there and convenient and treatments worked cancer started shrinking But COPD became worse.
Meadowood doctors stepped in and started in home oxygen full time. Resident Care staff and Home Health nurses were exceptional occasional COPD exascerbations and brief hospital stays but home base was at Westhill. As COPD advanced we needed home heath aides full time. She could have gone to Holly House but being "home" meant a lot to Mary and we could afford the aides . They were exceptional. COPD is relentless. She would periodically have two or three day admissions to the hospital and then to Holly House for two days and then back home, going every three weeks to Fox Chase for infusion.
She was in Holly House when she died. I was there and we had lunch together and she said "I am having trouble breathing" so I got a nurse who got two other nurses and three of them worked with her for a short while and she just stopped breathing.
Priest came for last rites, funeral home from up the street came for her and now have her ashes on table in my office. We plan a double funeral Mass when I go and ashes to Martha's Vineyard where our daughters ashes are.
I have gotten used to being alone. It will never be the same but our end of life planning has paid off. Meadowood friends have made this transition easier for me. I am very grateful. I am staying in our house on Westhill Way. Meadowood is truly HOME.

Move in was smooth tho' many boxes in garage for weeks until we could get to them and fold the contents into appropriate spaces and into our new lives. We rented space in a nearby storage facility for overflow and vowed to have it emptied within a year. It was.
Today we have been here almost 25 years. We never thought we would enjoy living in a retirement community so much. Neighbors and other residents are great, now considered close friends ...something about being in the same boat !
We have had a few medical problems which Meadowood has handled with us and we are totally satisfied with the expert professional support. The dining and food service is top notch and more than we could expect, and the "grounds guys" do the hard stuff while we do some planting in the spring as we always have. Housekeeping staff are professional and considerate. Couldn't ask for more.
Monthly fee is pretty stiff but reasonable when you think of what you are getting, particularly if you have signed up for life care, which we wholeheartedly recommend.
    Come to Meadowood

I am happy to have found Park Creek. My father is treated with respect and dignity and I feel he is safe. The environment is homey, inviting and clean. The staff is excellent with my dad and keeps me informed when necessary. His care is top notch,

Meadowood is a peaceful, beautiful senior living community with all the amenities. There are activities to suit all interests and the Health
& Wellness program recently won national recognition for excellence. The residents and staff are friendly and engaging. The dining services are excellent, often catering to special events and celebrations. The Health Services are also excellent, providing quality care in all levels from the skilled nursing unit to those in independent living. This summer we will open a state of the art Memory Center. The Administration and Board of Directors are active and responsive while maintaining sound financial management .

I moved to Meadowood 3 1/2 years ago and have never looked back!! This is the perfect place for me to live!

Though we loved our home at Whitpain Farm, we decided that moving to a life plan community "5 years too soon rather than 5 year too late" a wise choice. The mission defines Meadowood; residents are encouraged to live in a manner they find comfortable. For us, that means continuing our active lifestyle in beautiful surroundings and enjoy fine amenities, including the comfort of wonderful health care should we ever need it. What priceless peace of mind! We continue to play golf, travel and enjoy activities with long standing friends. An added bonus, new Meadowood friends and activities. Life is good!

The first time I realized I wanted to work at Park Creek Place was when my training and onboarding for a sister community was held here. I was so impressed with the, leadership, staff, teamwork, dining, activities, amenities, cleanliness of the beautiful grounds, and overall positive vibe from the residents that I knew I had to work my way back here. In August 2021, I was asked to join the Park Creek Place team as the Community Relations Manager and I’m so proud to be a part of this amazing team. Everything is as it appeared to be 8 months ago. It didn’t take long for me to connect with this community of wonderful residents and staff. Our team works together to deliver person centered care that enriches the lives of our residents every day. No job is beneath any member of our team because we love what we do. We have handled the pandemic extremely well and we are proud to be 100% vaccinated as a community. We will continue to work to make Park Creek Place the safe and wonderful place it is to live and work today. Thank you to our residents and families for your kindness, trust and participation. Thank you to ALL staff for going the extra mile to individualize the care we give to each resident based on their needs. Come see what the person centered care looks like for you and your loved ones at Park Creek Place.

I cannot say enough good things about Park Creek Place. My sister and I could no longer take care of our father, who has dementia, at home. So we began to look for a memory care facility for him.
The setup of Park Creek Place is very warm and inviting. The large, open courtyard-like room in the front serves as a gathering place for activities, and as the reception area for visitors. There are two identical wings off the main room with dining areas, enclosed gardens, activity rooms and the bedrooms. What we liked is that the residents can move freely among all the different areas safely according to what they feel like doing. The bedrooms are set up nicely and have plenty of room.
Our experience in visiting many assisted living facilities is that the people who work there make all the difference in the world as to the feel of a facility. And the people that work at Park Creek Place could not be nicer. The community is small, and feels like someone's home rather than an impersonal institution. Every staff member knows every residents' name. They have been so helpful in transitioning our father to the community, and in making the family feel comfortable that he will be well cared for in his new home. They have been excellent at keeping the family informed about the important and the routine events in his new life.
Another impressive thing we noticed about the staff is that everyone is willing to do whatever is needed at a particular moment, even if it is not within their usual job description. For example, one day Beverly, the director of memory care, was leading a group activity and another day she was helping a family move in by finding a hand cart for them to use. Johnna, the community relations director, helped us set up a FaceTime conversation between our mother and father when they could not be together.
The number of daily activities and special monthly activities planned for the residents each day is impressive. Phylicia and Nancy are terrific at including every resident in a particular activity. Because some residents speak softly, they make the effort to lean in when asking the resident a question so they can hear the resident's answer, and then repeat it for the group. They cheerfully help the residents move to various areas for each activity, sometimes putting their arm around the resident's shoulder to gently guide them, or holding another's hand or pushing them in their wheelchairs. What impressed us is that every resident is included, and no one is ignored.
Our father has received excellent medical care from the Charissa and the Care Management staff. When he needed to go to the hospital they called us immediately and kept us informed as to his diagnosis and when he would be returned to the facility. We appreciate that they have regular care plan meetings scheduled with the family, and that they are available to discuss concerns and issues at any time.

Update- My parents both moved into another Enlivant facility called Wyncote Place.

Park Creek Place has been AMAZING. The aids, nurses, activity staff and administrative staff have all been so caring and compassionate. They were so accommodating when we were in a difficult situation with my parents health and needed to find a safe and loving place for them after ill health. Both my parents are living at Park Creek Place and I am out of state; they have been so helpful and kind and I have confidence they are well cared for not only physically but also their emotional and mental needs as well. Everyone at Park Creek has been so quick to respond and help in any way they can.

I cannot rate thus facility highly enough. I had to place both my parents in a very quick, crisis situation, from out of state. One has serious memory care needs, the other was in need of long term rehab.
The facility is sparkling clean. Residents can walk freely, even going outside to a large enclosed patio. With only 40 residents, it was a personal, friendly community, not a warehouse.
The staff is incredible, top to bottom. The executive director made a 7 hour drive on a weekend to do the evaluation required for placement. The director knows not only every resident, but all of their family. She was greeting our extended family members by name immediately. Everyone has been trained so well for dementia care and is so respectful and gentle with residents.
The rooms were large and well designed so my parents were easily transitioned from their home. The medical support we have seen is terrific- responsive, professional and very high quality.
Do not miss this as an option. It has been a level of care that changed our family.
    UPDATE
My dad passed recently. The end of life care he received at park creek was exceptional. They arranged for a terrific hospice organization and could care for him when other facilities would have forced him to go to a rehab site. It meant he could be with my mom at the end of his life, cared for and in a familiar place. The care my mom has had in transitioning, after 67 years together with my dad, has been wonderful. Very grateful.
    UPDATE OF 12.2018
New management after enormous turnover and we are struggling to make this work. Very serious issues not being addressed. We will try a bit more but after 2 months of inattention my hopes are low.
    UPDATE OF 2.2.2019
We moved to the personal care facility and are thrilled with the level of care, the sense of community and the physical building itself. Happy conclusion for my mom but still concerned for the status of the memory care unit. Visit at unexpected times.
