Liberty Church of Christ

Very small church with a close-knit group of people. The pastor is a true Biblical scholar and is extremely knowledgeable about not just the English version of the Bible, but the languages, cultures, and histories surrounding it. He does a deep dive lesson before the worship service, focusing on a small section of the text and really getting into the details. The sermon itself is very laid back, and the congregants are encouraged to ask questions during it, making it more like a class than the traditional church lecture. They have a nice community time after church where snacks are provided and people can chat with each other about the lesson, life, or anything else. The attendees are mostly older folk, and I think the church would be served well by having some more young folk join them. Even so, the backgrounds and experiences of the congregants are interestingly diverse, and they bring a lot of good perspectives to both the class and the sermon. It’s slower paced church than many may be used to, with a very small community, but is an excellent well of Biblical and life knowledge that one would be lucky to draw from.
