Jay's Steak and Hoagie Joint

Took my family here for dinner on a weeknight between Christmas and New Years. We have three Celiac's in my family, myself included, so we don't do a lot of eating out. Jay's is about an hour away from our South Jersey home, but the promise of a gluten free cheesesteak that I didn't have to make myself was very tempting. I know that Jay's has a separate GF kitchen, so we were not worried at all about our food being safe. Ordering was done at an outside window, and there were outdoor tables set up, but there were no heaters, so we ate in our car. We ordered an assortment of GF cheesesteaks, a GF hoagie, a regular cheesesteak wrap, and both GF and regular chicken strips, with one order being Buffalo chicken fingers.
We were very impressed with all of the GF food. The GF pretzel roll was excellent, though small, and the other GF rolls were very good, but hard on the ends, especially for the cold hoagie. The steak was cooked perfectly, with plenty of melted cheese, and the fried onions were great. The Italian hoagie was a little light on meat, but it tasted great. The GF chicken fingers were the best we've ever gotten from a restaurant, crispy without being dry, and the fries were excellent too.
The cheesesteak wrap was good, and the regular chicken fingers were just as good as the GF ones.
We will definitely be back, especially when the weather is warmer. I really appreciate Jay's making so much of their menu available GF; I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone, but especially those who need to eat gluten free.

The Nameless: Boneless buffalo garlic wings topped with bacon, cheddar cheese and ranch dressing on a cheddar pretzel roll!

I was driving home from a trip and looked up well rated food on my route and it led me to this gem. I looked at other reviews and popular items and settled on the beer dip cheesesteak. It was phenomenal.

The caramelized onions, the well seasoned meat, the beer cheese, and of course the unique pretzel bun.

Different and definitely worth a try. I’m already planning on going back and exploring the rest of the menu.

No wonder they’re rated so highly and were on TV! Pretzel roll, gluten & dairy free cheesesteaks rolls. Winner for our multi-allergy/food sensitive family. Definitely recommend. Limited on-site parking and covered outdoor dining area available. Located in a residential area but worth the wait and the drive! Definitely recommend!
