Beautiful property filled with history.
Very well preserved, excellent educational experience for the kids. What makes this place amazing is the staff volunteers. They were all so well informed, patient and kind. Highly recommend this place and the people so much!
Small local history museum. Lovely place for a family time, a lot of activities available - sheep shearing and candle making. Staff are really knowledgeable and soo kind, kids were just excited about historical costumes! Entrance fee is more than fair
Again there is this fixation on recreating the year 1790 and this is a beautiful example. Sheep shearing, spinning and candle making will actually entertain kids and parents know how hard that is, so don't scoff at the modest entry fee. The staff is in period garb but their historical knowledge is up to the minute. They're really into it and it shows. We are always told there are no stupid questions. Here, it's really true. Fire away and enjoy.
This is a lovely place. We came here once for an Easter egg hunt and this time we came to a story book program about how a short was made. The teachers and volunteers knew their subjects and we all learned many things. The kids loved meeting the farm animals making candles and cornhusker dolls, seeing the gardens and seeing the well and spring house.
