Black Run Preserve West Trailhead

Quiet spot to hike around. My son enjoyed the wildlife, especially the beaver we saw in the bog.

This place was beautiful. Nice easy hike. We spent about 2 1/2 hours here. Parking was a little confusing so I suggest going earlier in the day when there are less people. Despite it being very busy when we went, the trails were quiet and peaceful. Our dog came too and she loved it!

Trail with possibilities. It can get muddy in some spots. Bring water and closed toe shoes, there are odd bits of glass randomly spread out on the trails. Beautiful bog with flowers are a nice touch.

Kind of true hiking place with dirt, water, swamps, etc... Make sure you won't go "deep" with kids, espesially after nasty weather.

Most trails were well marked. The red trail was a little confusing, the path would split and a red diamond was on both sides, from what I can tell so far it is not a loop, but I plan to check it out further when I get time. Highly recommend even tho it is close to a road. Easy for kids to walk and explore.

Began on the blue path across the street and it ends abruptly at a beaver dam. Observed white tail deer, squirrels, and frogs. Heard birds, but did not see.any.
