My wife and I starting meeting with Arlene about 3 years ago for marriage therapy. She taught me a lot about myself and things I needed to work on. It wound up that our marriage had a paradigm shift away from the "traditional" model, but yet we were able to stay together without a divorce, and, ironically, we are both in a better place. Arlene helped bring clarity and integrity into our relationship, for which I am forever grateful.
When my wife suffered a relapse of an old nerve injury, Arlene was always there for her, and made herself accessible at any time. I have not seen such compassion from a therapist before. She even late her know of any research that could possibly help her, including prereading a book for her to see if it would help!
In short, Arlene is a straight shooter and a woman of great integrity and compassion.
I can't say enough about how much Arlene has helped me. I have learned so much about myself in such a short time. She has an amazing ability to get right to the heart of what is going on and has taught me not to judge my feelings, but to embrace them, learn from them and then move forward. I have especially benefited from her application of ACT therapy, psychological flexibility and living according to your highest values. There was a point when I was going through a particularly difficult and painful time and Arlene would call just to see how I was doing. Her compassion and caring went far beyond anyone else I have ever worked with.
Arlene Foreman is an amazingly gifted therapist. She offers concrete help and does not spend your session shooting the breeze. I had two critical breakthroughs with her recently. My understanding of myself is growing, which puts me in a better position to change what hasn't been working. I owe her so much already and we've just gotten started!
