My entire family have been long-time patients of Dr. Z in this practice and they are brilliant. In fact... it was a result of Dr. Z also being an internist at the local hospital that saved my father's life. When ever my parents had been hospitalized, Dr. Z would make sure to stop in and keep tabs on them to ensure they were getting the best treatment.
Without disclosing too many details... several years ago, my father was about to be discharged from the hospital by the specialist team he was admitted under. Dr. Z checked in on him beforehand and as a result of knowing my father's history well, asked them to do a quick diagnostic test beforehand, which caught a life threatening condition that would have otherwise been missed. He had surgery later that week and is still with us today.
There is a lot to be said about having a primary care provider that also rounds at the local hospital. Dr. Z is one of the best. He and his team go above and beyond.
